Emily is listening to Afrirampo by Afrirampo. This generation’s Shonen Knife - but wilder!
Emily hearts Haroon Mirza’s kinetic, synaesthetic installations using found obsolete technology.
“He plays records made of cardboard and creates machines that turn water into mist,” said the Guardian in a piece about Mirza after he won the Northern Art Prize last year.
Mirza’s latest exhibition, Precoccupied Waveforms, (pictured above) is at the New Museum’s Studio 231 in New York until 6 Jan.
Wow, we’re all very proud of former Gosh member Elizabeth Price, this year’s winner of the Turner Prize. You can see her winning artwork at London’s Tate Britain until 6 Jan.
Now go see John’s DJ Downfall tumblr, which looks back on his time as ‘the artist’s assistant’, working on her Choir project last year.
